1. Privacy First & Local Processing

SnapZoom is designed with a privacy-first, zero-cloud architecture. Unlike traditional screen recording tools, SnapZoom processes your recordings, click events, and auto-zoom coordinate calculations entirely locally within your browser.

2. Video Data Handling

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit your recordings to any servers.
  • Videos are captured and stored temporarily in your browser's local memory and IndexedDB.
  • All editing, watermark removal, and AI cinematic zoom effects are computed locally using your own device's hardware.
  • Exports (MP4 and WebM files) are generated and downloaded directly to your local file system.

3. Premium License & Dodo Payments

For users who upgrade to the Pro Lifetime plan, we utilize Dodo Payments as our merchant of record to securely process transactions.
  • We do not store your credit card information. All payment processing is handled externally by Dodo Payments.
  • The extension securely validates your purchase by checking your one-time License Key against our Dodo Payments license validation endpoint (`live.dodopayments.com/licenses/validate`).
  • The validation process only transmits your license key and receives a true/false status to unlock premium features (like 1080p export and custom watermarks). It does not transmit tracking data.

4. Permissions Required

SnapZoom requires specific permissions to function securely:
  • Tab Capture: To exclusively record the contents of your active browser tab.
  • Storage: To save your local video drafts and your `snapzoom_license_key` across sessions.
We only use these permissions to provide the core functionality of the extension.
